The theory of relativity is expressed in E=mc˛ but Einstein’s inspiration for tackling the subject stemmed from his efforts to imagine what it would be like to ride on a beam of light. We put everything in context

During a Presidential visit to Cape Canaveral John F. Kennedy asked a very surprised floor cleaner what he was doing. Regaining his composure he replied “Putting a man on the moon”. Questioned further he elaborated “A tiny speck of dust on the navigation system could cause the mission to fail and my task is to keep this corridor free from dust”.
